But considering the rise in sexual assault cases against women, it’s shameful to see our sisters/mothers/friends or wife can’t even feel safe in their own Indian society. It’s not surprising to see the women getting robbed, raped, or become the victim of domestic violence even in the metro cities in India. Although we can’t change the people mentality, it’s good to know that we can take help of technology.

There are awesome mobile application that made especially considering women safety. Whenever the women find herself in trouble, she can quickly send her current location to closed ones, inform the local police, post a Facebook notification etc using these apps.

The alert can be triggered by shaking the handset vigorously, which then sends emergency message, your location and a recorded audio clip of the situation to chosen contact. This app is not limited to women safety but can also be use by elderly people having health problems.
Like the above app, this app can also send SOS pre-defined message to your selected contacts by shaking your phone or pressing down the power button. But what make this app different from others is it’s feature to create heat map to mark the area safe or unsafe and share their experience with other Users using heat map showcasing unsafe areas
This app turns an average android smartphone into a CC camera, So that Instead of relying on the government for our safety we can make sure it on our own. How does it work ? Based on the idea that Photographic evidence are better than personal narration, you can use this app in emergency. Hit the emergency button on the app and it take a picture of your surrounding and send them to your chosen email contacts. This app can also be used by bystanders to record a crime in progress

It’s a security app design for the parents/guardians to track their daughters using the GPS in a vehicle or the user’s phone. Tough this app is dedicated to tracking, similar to the above apps you can also inform the selected contacts by pressing a single button.

Only downside to this app is that,it is still in development form and restricted to Indore, Bhopal and Jabalpur as three major cities of MadhyaPradesh.
Conclusion
Most of these app is has been there for a while. But when I saw the no. of downloads, I was shocked to see, how fewer people has download them. The reason behind that is lack of awareness. So I decided to write the post about it, with a hope that this message will reach wide no. of audience.
